September is childhood cancer awareness month. Did you know that cancer remains the leading cause of death for children in the US? We are determined to change that statistic.
Research has steadily improved outcomes for kids and every year more children and teenagers are survivors! But, there is still so much more work to be done and we are not stopping until ALL pediatric cancers are curable and all kids THRIVE after treatment.
Federal funding for biomedical research, including pediatric cancer research, is no longer secure. To keep the momentum that will find new and less toxic therapies we must double-down on fundraising locally. The Run of Hope benefits pediatric cancer research at Seattle Children's Hospital and Research Institute. Please won't you join me in this year?
